Mrs. Olivia Santos

Olivia Santos, Principal of Solar Preparatory School for Girls, began her career at Oran M. Roberts. She loved every minute of the ten years she spent as a passionate, creative teacher. Santos became an instructional coach at Geneva Heights and John Quincy Adams. In 2016 Santos joined the founding leadership team at Solar Preparatory School for Girls where she was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Solar instructional model. Anchored by targeted, high-quality reading instruction, this model  included a STEAM-focused framework enhanced by blended and performance-based learning. Santos was promoted to Assistant Principal at Solar in 2019 and Principal in 2020. She takes pride in the innovative, challenging, inclusive environment that Solar has become known for. Under her leadership Solar has grown from a PK-5 campus to a PK-8 campus where Trailblazers are empowered to live and lead with confidence and purpose. Through Solar’s 50/50 socio-economic diversity model, Santos is eager to continue to highlight the cognitive, social and emotional benefits of diverse classroom environments focused on racial equity. Santos attended Southern Methodist University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education in Urban Educational Leadership as part of Cohort 4 of the Aspiring Leaders Program.
